18 Bikes Links - Locals

Whether directly bike related, or just friends and family - this section's all about those local to Sheffield and the Peak.

We kick off with the lovely girls at the Woodbine Cafe - keeping us topped up with coffee and flapjack throughout the year. We've put in a bike rack out back, so it's great to pop by, even mid ride.

Vertebrate Graphics in Sheffield look after our design work, along with producing some top cycling and climbing/bouldering guides.

Edale Mountain Rescue receive no central government funding, so donations really make a difference here. We've also got a collecting tin on the till, so give what you can, please?

Just next door to us is Hitch n Hike - all the other outdoor gear that isn't bike related! If it's not at the Hope shop, then the Bamford shop down the road should have it!

Also in the village are the 2 Eco Eco shops, worth a visit just for the lovely smells. For some reason, very popular as a browsing destination while the other half is at 18 Bikes.

Sheffield and the Peak has a massive crossover with climbing/mountain biking. Si and Matt recently got into indoor bouldering at the Climbing Works in Sheffield, partly as an escape to something other than bikes. No such luck, as we're regularly hassled by customers and suppliers alike, always a familiar face down there!

Great Rock - not quite so local, but Ed and his beard have run courses from the shop, along with his usual Calderdale stomping ground.

Dark and White run several events in the Peak (Dark and White, you see?) - trailquests being a popular one among our local riders.

Cocoa - Recovery food specialists, on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield.
