2019 Hope HB160

2019 brings an updated version of the Hope HB 160 - along with some new upgrade options.

The majority of the bike remains unchanged with the frame and majority of components manufactured and finished in house at Hope in Barnoldswick.  The most noticeable difference is that the bike now comes with a Sram X01 Eagle drivetrain - cassette, chain, mech, shifter and carbon cranks.

With this change comes a price rise, to £6300.  It's a bit of a shame to see this, but somewhat unavoidable - just goes to show how much of a deal Hope have been offering on the parts on this build!

In terms of upgrade options, there's now several options to fine tune your HB160.

- Hope decal kit £0

This should be £30, but we're throwing it in for free with all Hope HB160.  It gets you colour matched decals for your rims, fork and shock - to match the colour chosen for you bike parts.

- Hope crankset upgrade.  £285.  (or free!)

We're offering a couple of options on this one.  Hope have to supply the bike with a Sram crank as part of Sram's insistence on providing a full drivetrain.  £285 gets you an additional Hope crankset, or we can offer that as a free swap with us keeping the Sram crank to sell on.

- Reserve rim upgrade.  £1350

We're chuffed to see this as an option - not all that straightforward given that the HB160 has a custom rear hub that's usually 32H.  Reserve rims are 28H, so that's yet another version of a Pro 4 hub that Hope are now making!  You get the same lifetime warranty for the rims, so great backup from Hope and Santa Cruz there.

- Reserve wheelset.  £1750

Hope realise that some folks will want the Reserves as an additional wheelset, along with existing HB customers who want to upgrade - so we can offer that too.

- Ohlins fork/shock. £50

For folks who are after something a little more out of the ordinary, there's now the option to spec your HB160 with an Ohlins RXF36 TT18 fork and TTX22 shock.  Not a big price difference there!

- Fox DHX2 coil shock. £150

£150 swaps the standard X2 shock to a DHX2 Coil

We've added the latest version of the bike and the upgrade options to the website here - take a look for more photos and colour examples.  We have a Large demo bike, with others available to borrow from Hope once they revamp their demo fleet!
