While many of us have been riding drop bar bikes off road for years, there's no doubt that the gravel sector is growing, with many of us discovering alternative ways to enjoy an off road ride.  This has led to an ever more varied group of riders riding a wider range of terrain on their gravel bike.

With this in mind, Santa Cruz have just launched the new Stigmata, taking many of the features and geometry changes that they've made to their mountain bikes and tweaking their drop bar bike to match!

There's big changes to the geometry, with longer reach and a 1.5 degree slacker head angle bringing things closer to "mountain bike" handling.  This longer reach is matched to a shorter (70mm) stem and suspension corrected (40mm travel) - allowing forks like the new Rockshox Rudy to be used for even more rugged terrain.  With significantly shorter seat tubes, Santa Cruz have moved away from cm sizing for the new Stig, using a Small/Medium/Large etc. naming that more people will feel familiar with.  It helpfully avoids confusion where your "old" 56cm now has a 52cm equivalent!

The Glovebox downtube storage used on the rest of the range also features on the new Stigmata, so although there's 3 bottle bosses and room for luggage, you can carry tools, food and spares inside the frame too!
