Peak District winter riding Posted on 2 February 2017 By Si Posted in dark peak, fitz, mountain biking, peak distirct, peak district mtb, ride sheffield, sheffield, team18, wet weather, winter 0 Fitz runs us through a few wet-weather routes in the Peak District. As you may be aware, Si has been working with Ride Sheffield, Peak District MTB and Keeper of the Peak to promote discussion and responsible use of the sensitive Cut Gate route. We're making headway on that and last week went to print on a document outlining our concerns. With rather unfortunate timing, MBR magazine re-posted a route guide to Cut Gate at a pretty wet time of year. This led to somewhat heated discussions on Facebook and twitter, including comments from #team18 rider Ian Fitz.MBR have very kindly offered to publicise some more wet weather suitable Peak District routes, which Ian has put together and are now live on the MBR website.Click here to view the routesAs ever, we'd suggest checking the Peak District MTB and Ride Sheffield Facebook groups, along with the the excellent Keeper of the Peak twitter page. All 3 will help keep you up to speed with trail conditions in the area.We should have a proper writeup of the Cut Gate story next week, more news then!
