Steel City Downhill 2025 - Saturday 13th September

Alongside his involvement with Ride Sheffield, Si is one of the core team behind Peaty's Steel City Downhill - the biggest little race!
If you've not heard of it, Steel City is held at Greno woods in Sheffield, on the Steel City track. The first Steel City race helped raise funds for Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust to purchase the site, who've worked in partnership with Ride Sheffield to create and maintain 3 purpose built MTB trails there - DH3, Steel City and Pub Run.
The race is entirely volunteer run, with any funds raised going back to the trails. For 2025 the focus is on raising money for repairs an re-work of Pub Run.
What's this got to do with 18 Bikes, asides Si's involvement? Well, we'll be at the race, so the shop will be CLOSED ALL DAY on Saturday 13th September.
You'll find us sharing a stand with Peak Gravel Gang - who've helped Steel City to bring even more Women entrants to the race, with their open and encouraging skill share events. The stand will feature a few of our prototypes, but will act mainly as a support area for Peak Gravel gang riders - for repairs, refuelling and a spot to hang out.
